Craftpoint Pop-Up Shop, Truro

Here I am with one of my mosaic mirrors at the pop-up shop which is being held over Easter and Spring Bank in the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro. The shop has been organised by Carole Lomas. She's the founder of Craftpoint which showcases the work of designer makers based in Cornwall. There's a wonderful mix of interior products and gift items for sale and I think that the Craftpoint pop-up shops are a great idea.

Treasures of the Towans

Good news! Just found out that my mosaic 'Treasures of the Towans' has been chosen by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust to be part of their 'Wild and Inspired' exhibition which will be touring venues throughout the county. Over 200 entries were submitted but the Trust had to reduce the number of artwork to just thirty, all of which will be on sale and hopefully raise funds for CWT. My mosaic represents the wildlife habitat as well as the geology and history of Gwithian Towans and I used gems, gold dust and quadra tesserae, unglazed porcelain, stained and tempered glass, sea-shells and acrylic paint.

Krowji

The Artichoke Mosaics studio is based in a wonderful old building in Redruth which was originally the town's Grammar School but is now home to Cornwall's largest group of artists and designer makers. See http://www.krowji.org.uk/
